| Expense | Monthly Cost (SGD) | Approx. in INR (1 SGD ≈ ₹75) |
| On-campus housing (subject to availability) | SGD 900–SGD 1,800 | ₹67,500–₹1,35,000 |

Living cost is heavily dependent on your lifestyle. The biggest expense for students is accommodation and sharing a room in a Housing & Development Board flat is often cheaper than private housing or on-campus. Setting aside some money for health insurance and doctor visits is also important. According to NUS, a student is advised to budget around SGD 19,500 a year for living expenses. However, in our experience, students can live a modest lifestyle with much less.
| Level of Study | Academic Requirement | English Requirement |
| Diploma (Private) | Class 12 pass (minimum age usually 17) | Pass in English in Class 12, or IELTS 5.5 / equivalent |
| Bachelor's Degree (Public University) | Class 12 with good passes in five subjects, including English | Usually not required for CBSE, ISC, and State Board students |

Each institution sets its own entry requirements and they can vary by programme, checking the institution course page for the latest information is always a good idea. Public university admissions are highly competitive and many programmes may have prerequisites for subjects. For example, CBSE and ISC students don't need SAT for NUS but State Board students do. Programmes such as medicine or law may have even more requirements.

How to work in Singapore after graduation?
If you want to work in Singapore after graduating, you need a job offer. Your employer will apply for your Work Pass.
| Work Pass | Who It's For | Minimum Monthly Salary | Approx. in INR (1 SGD ≈ ₹75) |
| Employment Pass (EP) | Professionals, managers, and executives | SGD 5,600 (rising to SGD 6,000 from 1 January 2027) | ₹4,20,000 (rising to ₹4,50,000 from 1 January 2027) |

These are the minimum monthly salaries you need to have to get a Work Pass. Employment Pass (EP) applicants must also pass a points-based assessment known as COMPASS. It is also important to note that simply meeting the minimum salary requirement does not guarantee Work Pass approval. You need good grades, skills that are in-demand and relevant experience from any internships you may have done.
If you return to India, you will still have a Singapore qualification that strengthens your profile and gives you international exposure making you a well qualified candidate for employers all around the globe.
