SIM Global Education (Singapore Institute of Management)A University at Buffalo (SUNY) psychology degree taught at SIM's Singapore campus.
The Singapore Institute of Management, established way back in 1964, has a long-standing reputation as one of the most enduring and prominent private education providers in the Republic -- with around 15,300 students enrolled each year, and a total of some 196,000 graduates to its name. SIM Global Education -- the institute's division of degrees and diplomas -- collaborates with 12 different universities worldwide: Monash College, RMIT University, University of Sydney, and University of Wollongong in Australia; in the UK, University of Birmingham, Cardiff University, University of London, University of Stirling, and University of Warwick; the US' University at Buffalo; Canada's University of Alberta; and France's Grenoble Ecole de Management. That's more of a variety than most other institutes in the Republic can say, with a total of foundation, diploma, bachelor's and master's courses on offer in fields such as business & management, IT, banking & finance, and nursing & health sciences. Its partnership with the University of London, for example, has lasted for 40 years -- and for students who are yet to meet a partner university's direct entry requirements, SIM offers its own Foundation Studies pathways in Management and IT that lead to progression onto a degree course.
SIM Global Education has been awarded EduTrust certification since 2010, at the higher "EduTrust Star" tier. As degrees are issued by the relevant partner university, the accreditation of the university also follows the student, with partners in the UK operating under the UK's higher education quality assurance framework, and those in Australia registered with TEQSA, and so on -- so a SIM Global Education graduate holds a recognised overseas qualification.
Campus at 461 Clementi Road, Singapore, with teaching facilities shared across SIM Global Education's degree programmes.
For applicants who have completed Year 12 or senior secondary schooling in India, SIM generally seeks the most recent three years of academic results averaging around 70% or higher, together with official Grade 10 and Grade 12 board statements of results. English proficiency may be met in a number of ways including IELTS (commonly around 6.5 with no band below 6), TOEFL, PTE Academic, SAT or ACT English scores; those who fall short of the direct entry threshold can begin studies in a Foundation Studies pathway and then progress into the degree. Applications are made via the SIM online portal and a counsellor can confirm the exact score and document requirements for a specific programme.
