About

Beacon International College was founded in 2004 by Ms Lee Hian, and ever since it has been located at the heart of Singapore's Central Business District on Cecil Street, which is within a minute's walking distance from the Telok Ayer MRT station, and a privileged central location which is difficult to find elsewhere for a private college of Beacon's size. Beacon offers a wider academic ladder for its students than many other smaller Singapore institutes: Diplomas and Pearson BTEC Higher National Diplomas, Higher and Advanced Diplomas, Bachelor's degrees, and even Master's programmes offered through UK partners Cardiff Metropolitan University, University of East London and University of West London. The college specialises in a diverse range of fields including business & management, accounting & finance, cyber security, fashion studies, media & communications, international hotel & hospitality management, elder care management, counselling psychology, and logistics & supply chain management, as well as English and IELTS classes, and a preparatory pathway for students wishing to gain entry into Singapore government schools. With its faculty members holding mostly master's degrees, as well as over twenty years of continuous operation under its founding leadership, Beacon offers a combination of a compact, central campus and a broad range of specialisations which is difficult to find elsewhere in its class.

Accreditation

Beacon International College is EduTrust Certified and registered under Singapore's Enhanced Registration Framework. The College's Bachelor's and Master's degrees are awarded and validated by UK partner universities Cardiff Metropolitan University, University of East London and University of West London, while its Higher National Diplomas are awarded by Pearson (UK) - in other words, the qualifications possess a value far beyond Singapore's shores.

Entry requirements

Applicants are required to have relevant academic qualifications to the level of the course they are applying for, in addition to any identification documents needed to complete an application. Students who were taught in an English medium are typically exempt from submitting proof of their English proficiency. Others may need to take Beacon's English placement exam before starting their studies. A counsellor will be able to provide information regarding the academic or language requirements for a particular course before submitting an application.
