Programme overview

The Diploma in International Hospitality Management gives students a broad introduction to the hospitality and tourism sector, covering hotel operations, customer service and organisational practices within international hospitality settings. Students build practical competencies through on-the-job training alongside foundational management knowledge, preparing them for entry into the hospitality industry or progression to higher qualifications. The programme is accredited by the Institute of Hospitality.

Practical industry training

The programme includes a mandatory 6-month Industrial Attachment (IA), an integral part of the course. LSBF Singapore helps students connect with employers to secure a suitable internship placement. In the rare event a student cannot be placed, they may complete an alternative 5,000-word academic project within a maximum of 2 months.

Pay will be given during the 6-month industrial attachment (IA) component; the exact amount depends on the host employer/placement.

Eligibility & requirements

Local students need at least two GCE 'A' Level passes, an International Baccalaureate score of 24 points, or a local Polytechnic Diploma in any field. International students need completion of Year 12 (or equivalent), an IB score of 24 points, or an equivalent polytechnic diploma. Minimum age is 18. Applicants with other hospitality-related qualifications may be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

English requirement: Grade C6 or better in GCE O-Level English, a pass in English in Year 10 (or equivalent), IELTS 5.5/TOEFL 550, or completion of the LSBF Preparatory Course (Upper Intermediate level).

Career outcomes

Graduates can pursue entry-level hospitality roles such as Front Office/Guest Services Associate, F&B Service Crew, Guest Relations/Concierge Assistant, or Operations Coordinator, with entry-level salaries generally between SGD 2,000 and SGD 2,800 per month. Graduates may also progress to a Higher Diploma, Bachelor's, or Master's degree to advance toward managerial and senior roles in the global tourism sector.
