Pathumthani University is a private Thai institution, divided into seven faculties and a graduate school, and with 14 associated institutes countrywide. Based in Pathum Thani, on the verge of greater Bangkok, PTU offers an unusual academic range for a university of its size: Engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial, civil and IT), Business Administration & Accounting (including MBA and DBA), Allied Health Sciences (public health, sport & exercise science, medical technology, traditional Thai medicine), Education, Nursing, Political Science and Law, with courses running from bachelor's to doctoral level. Its International College offers English-taught courses aimed specifically at international students, including a BBA and MBA in Digital Business, a B.Ed in Early Childhood Education, and a BA in Hospitality Industry Management. Pathumthani University is recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand as a Private University. This means that the university is licensed by the Thai government to provide its educational programs and degrees in accordance with the framework of the national higher education system in Thailand.
International undergraduate applicants will usually be expected to have completed secondary education (12 years of schooling) or its equivalent, and postgraduate applicants will require a relevant bachelor's degree; for English-taught programmes such as those offered by the International College, knowledge of the English language at a working level is required, although the particular requirements may vary for different faculties rather than being determined for the whole university.
